WEEE Recycling Process
AA Waste Solutions provides a comprehensive collection service for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) items. Our trained and vetted staff will safely collect the WEEE items from your location, ensuring proper handling and transportation.
Once the WEEE items are collected, they are sorted and categorised based on their type and composition. This step helps in identifying the different materials and components present in the WEEE items, which aids in the subsequent recycling process.
To ensure data security and prevent any potential misuse, the WEEE items undergo physical destruction. This process may involve the use of specialised machinery to dismantle and break down the items into smaller components.
After the physical destruction, the different material components of the WEEE items are recovered. This includes metals such as ferrous (iron and steel), non-ferrous (aluminium, copper, etc.), and precious metals (gold, silver, etc.), as well as plastics and other recyclable materials.
Certain WEEE items contain hazardous elements that need to be safely removed. This includes the extraction of gas discharge lamps, lithium cells, and other potentially harmful substances. Special care is taken to ensure proper handling and disposal of these hazardous elements.
The remaining materials from the WEEE items, including plastics, metals, and other recyclable components, are separated and shredded into smaller fragments. This step facilitates the subsequent recycling processes by preparing the materials for further processing.
The shredded materials are then sent to appropriate recycling facilities where they undergo further processing. Metals are melted and purified for reuse, plastics are processed into raw materials for manufacturing new products, and other recyclable components are treated accordingly.
Protecting your data and the environment is what we excel at. Our Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) disposal services are designed to ensure both. When you entrust us with your old electronic devices, we guarantee secure destruction of data. With each WEEE disposal, you’ll receive a certified destruction certificate, leaving no possibility of anyone retrieving sensitive information from the devices, be it a laptop, phone, or any other electronic gadget.
AA Waste Solutions provides a certificate of destruction or recycling as evidence that your WEEE items have been properly disposed of or recycled. This certificate serves as confirmation that the items have been handled in compliance with environmental regulations and contribute to your sustainability efforts.
*Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, and we can accept other types of WEEE items as well. If you have any specific items that are not listed here, please contact us, and we will guide their disposal and recycling*
